THERAPY, PSYCHIATRY
Amanda J Reilly APRN, PMHNP-BC
I come to this work with over 30 years of experience in a variety of mental health roles and settings. A Yale graduate with master’s degrees in counseling and nursing, I have practiced both as a psychotherapist and psychiatric nurse practitioner. My drive to do this work is fueled by a passion for helping people access their personal tools for healing and true self-expression. I am particularly effective with adolescents and people of any age who may be struggling with issues of identity, life purpose, belonging, or self-worth. My personal passions for creative writing, painting, and photography make me particularly equipped to work with artists and others who wish to further unlock their unique creative potential.
So many of us have a sense of who or what we could be, if only we could get past the hurt and release the old, ineffective patterns that get in the way. Knowing your worth and your highest goals are not required to begin therapy, but these aspects of you will almost certainly be revealed as you commit to working on your areas of challenge. Everyone has light to share with the world. Let’s work together so you can shine brightly and experience the connection you want with others.
THERAPY, EIGHTFOLD PATH, COACHING
Edward J Sayer PsyD
As an experienced psychologist, healthcare team leader, Buddhist, and coach, husband and father, I have a broad perspective on how to live a joyful, ethical life. If we live our lives with compassion, gratitude, friendliness, and equanimity, we can set ourselves free from suffering. While unpleasant experiences are inevitable, suffering is optional.
Our lives are replete with both pleasant and unpleasant experiences, and we will experience both whether we want to or not. The only successful way beyond our present circumstance is through. There is no need to run. To live our lives gracefully—in spite of everything—is attainable.
My approach includes a whole-self, mindfulness orientation that includes exercise, nutrition, developmental psychology, meditation, selected readings, and spirituality. I work with people of all ages and specialize in emotional dysregulation including anxiety and depression, all forms of craving, as well as life cycle issues. In my leisure time, I enjoy cooking, financial planning, jogging, walking along the beach, meditating, listening to bluegrass music, and having fun.
